Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is an interesting game in that it was released at the dawn of a new console generation. Assassin’s Creed: Unity was released at the same time for next generation consoles and stole much of any thunder Rogue would have received. Rogue was also a lesser game technically and also because it felt redundant as it just took visual assets and gameplay mechanics that have been done to death in Assassin’s Creed 3 and 4. I enjoyed my time with this game, but it offers nothing new. As such, this is a game you can skip without fear of missing out on anything in important in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Curse of the Pharaohs is the last piece of downloadable content (or DLC) for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. There’s so much more to this downloadable content that it borders on being called an expansion rather than DLC. Curse of the Pharaohs introduces a few new beautiful areas to explore and a few new bosses to fight as well. The story goes more into the history of Egypt, but not of its protagonist, Bayek, unfortunately.

Fields of Elysium is the first of three parts of The Fate of Atlantis, which is downloadable content (or DLC for short) for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. There are some new elements, but it’s mostly more of the same gameplay. The new areas are beautiful though.
Details: This is a review for the base game and all the free downloadable content that came with it. Played the game for about ninety hours. Official site is https://assassinscreed.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/home
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has always been a warm blanket to me. I’m familiar with the tone, the atmosphere, and the gameplay generally established in this series. Which is why I was very curious about how different things would be in Odyssey. The last Assassin’s Creed game I played what Syndicate, and things have become substantially more like a role playing game since then. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey feels a lot like The Witcher 3, and that’s a good thing. Odyssey is an adventure and I enjoyed that adventure very much.
Details: Released in 2014. Beat the game in about ten hours. Purchased the game through steam for about five dollars. Played on the PC. Official site is https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/child-of-light/
Child of Light is a turn based role playing game. It’s pretty fun, if not short lived.
