Frozen Food Review: Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pies

This is surprisingly good. I’ve had frozen pot pies before and they are usually too soft and too salty. This is quite salty, but they somehow figured out how to get the crust perfectly crispy despite using a microwave to reheat.

The instructions recommend using an actual oven to heat this up, but a microwave is perfectly acceptable. I don’t know how exactly they did it. I imagine it has something to do with the tray it comes with, but microwaving this thing will yield a crispy, brown crust. Which is amazing considering that most stuff that goes into a microwave comes out soggy. I also appreciate that each small pie comes with at least two or three pieces of large, white chicken meat.

Overall, this was pretty good. I bought an eight pack which means each individual pie costs between one to two dollars, which is not bad at all.
