Restaurant Review: Ageha Sushi Restaurant

Details: Located at 767 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019. Official site is

Ageha Sushi is another one of the countless low priced Japanese restaurants around New York City. These places are decent, but so inauthentic that the majority are actually run by Chinese people… not that most people know enough to tell the difference.

I came by for the lunch special. I got two rolls combo which came with a small miso soup and salad for $12.50 after tax. The rolls I had were a shrimp tempura roll and an eel avocado roll. They were okay and each roll came with six pieces. Salad and soup were just okay.

Overall, it was kind of pricey for the small amount of food served. I probably won’t return.

Restaurant Review: Hudson Market Place

Came here for a prosciutto, salami, provolone, lettuce, and tomato on a roll. It was very reasonably priced at about $6.50 and it was pretty fresh. This is my new sandwich spot in the neighborhood as it beats all other places in the neighborhood in terms of price and quality. They also have some fresh looking baked goods. There is also a really cute bodega cat if you like cats.

Wondee Siam is an interesting restaurant in that right next door is another Thai restaurant called Thai Noodle House that has pretty much the same menu. In fact, when I was here, I saw employees shuffle from on restaurant to the other. I think it’s safe to assume that both restaurants are owned by the same owner.

Restaurant Review: Poulette

Details: Located at 790 9th Ave, New York, NY 10019. Official site is

Poulette is a French rotisserie chicken place.

I came by for lunch and ordered the quarter dark chicken lunch deal. It came with a choice of two sides and some dipping sauce. I got the ratatouille and roasted potatoes. Cost around thirteen dollars after tax.

It was all right. I’d probably get something other than ratatouille next time. Given the price, I’m not sure I would come back actually.
