Papa John’s Garlic Parmesan Wings are not good. They are about equally as not good as Domino’s wings. They have the same, mushy, gummy consistency that chicken wings have no business having. You can taste the length of time these things have been frozen.
In regards to the garlic parmesan flavor, you need to keep in mind that this is an oily, not creamy sauce. Buffalo Wild Wings has a similar sauce, but that is creamy. This sauce is just oil. It’s not great.
Overall, if you’re buying pizza from a fast food chain, skip the wings. They’re all mostly going to be trash.
Papa John’s Spicy Garlic Sauce is the improvement needed for the already popular garlic sauce. It’s got decent spice, which is something the original garlic sauce could always use more of. If given a choice, I’d choose this sauce almost all the time.
The primary reason I order Papa John’s is because of the dipping sauce. It is this small touch alone that distinguishes their pizza from other places (the pizzas also decent compared to other fast food chains). Garlic Sauce is their most popular, commonly gifted sauce. It’s a somewhat creamy garlic butter sauce. I don’t know if there is any butter in it. I’ve looked at the ingredients, and there’s some dairy, but I’m not sure they actually add butter. Whatever the case, this is a garlic butter sauce and goes fantastic with pizza. As long as they keep giving complimentary sauces, I’ll keep ordering.
When considering the price of Papa John’s Garlic Knots, there will clearly never be a time where I want to order these things. It’s simply too expensive. Where I live, there are a lot of pizzerias and all of them have garlic knots. Normally, you can get four or five garlic knots for around one to two dollars. Papa John’s garlic knots are eight pieces for about five dollars. That makes no sense considering who they’re competing against.
As for the taste, their pretty good. There isn’t a big variation between one places garlic knots and any other places garlic knots. Garlic Knots are simply pieces of pizza dough, tied into a knot and covered in garlic and oil. That’s it. There’s no reason these things should cost more than double their competitors.
Overall, these weren’t bad, but there’s no reason for me to ever buy any considering where I live. If you live somewhere where the Papa John’s is the only place you can get garlic knots, I still would not get this. It’s just tied up pizza dough.
This is the ideal sauce to eat with their fried shrimp. Heck, it’s good with just about anything on their menu. I love garlic and I could eat just about anything with more of it, so of course I enjoyed the garlic tartar sauce. It’s not overwhelmingly garlic-y either. There’s just enough of it to taste the garlic.
