Fast Food Review: Dunkin’ Donuts Mocha Flavor Swirl

Score: 6.5/10

As said in past reviews, Dunkin’ flavor swirls are sweetened and flavor shots are not. Mocha is essentially chocolate, so if you add it to your coffee, it’s going to taste like chocolate milk or something like that. Because this is sweetened, it makes your coffee taste even more like chocolate milk than the unsweetened flavor shot. It’s still not nearly as sweet as Hershey’s chocolate syrup though. The Mocha here tastes like a slightly darker chocolate.

Fast Food Review: Burger King Jalepeno Cheddar Bites

Jalepeno Cheddar Bites have been on Burger King’s menu for decades. They used to be called Jalepeno Poppers. Then they were taken off the menu. And then they came back. It’s a straight forward, frozen, deep fried snack. It’s not he greatest, however, you can get four for a dollar. With that price point, I almost always just buy some. It’s fried, spicy cheese. It’s completely unhealthy, but crunchy and cheesy.

Overall, this snack is just cheap enough to be worth purchasing.

Fast Food Review: Dunkin’ Donuts’ Toasted Coconut Flavor Swirl

Score: 5.8/10

As said in a past post, Dunkin’s flavor shots are unsweetened while flavor swirls are sweetened. So Dunkin’s Toasted Coconut Flavor Swirl is a sweetener. It tastes pretty much like the unsweetened flavor shot of the same name, but with sugar. This is not a good thing. The coconut flavor shot tastes like artificially flavored coconut water. It’s not an appealing taste to me and kind of makes me want to throw up. Adding sweetener to that helps a little, but there’s not much you can do with an inherently bad taste.

My recommendation: don’t get this. Get mocha or caramel, but don’t get this.

Snack Review: Wellsley Farms Steak & Cheese Spring Rolls

I had a coupon for these things at BJ’s and I figured I’d give them a try.

The first thing you should know is that these are not microwavable. That means that you’re going to have to preheat your oven and bake them for around twelve minutes (as recommended by the packaging). That’s not a long time, but it’s too much for me. For me, frozen food is food of last resort. It’s food I eat when I am at my most lazy and desperate. I want to plunk my food in the microwave, hit some buttons and get a mediocre product that will satisfy my hunger. Preheating an oven for fifteen minutes before putting the food in for another twelve minutes and then putting on a glove and taking the hot tray out while trying to avoid burning myself is simply too much hassle. I will not be purchasing these things again for personal consumption. I would buy these again to feed some guests at a party though.

The taste is pretty good. Specifically, the cheese they use is pretty good. It’s a blend of mostly cream cheese and parmesan cheese. It’s taste like a mini Philly cheesesteak in spring roll form.

Another thing to keep in mind is that according to the back of the box, this isn’t true steak but “fabricated steak.” Not sure what that means, but it tastes like it’s mostly ground beef. It’s hard to tell with such a heavy cheese flavor.

Overall, these things were pretty good. The taste is there and I think these things would be nice to serve at a small party. I would not buy them as an anytime-snack for myself though. There are simply too many competing frozen products that are equally tasty but that do not require preheating my oven.

Fast Food Review: Dunkin’ Donuts Coconut Flavor Shot

Score: 5/10

When you order any kind of coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts, you can get flavor shots or flavor swirls. These are usually syrups, probably artificially flavored that add flavor to your average a coffee. The difference between flavor shots and flavor swirls is that flavor shots are unsweetened and flavor swirls are.

The coconut flavor shot basically tastes like they added a small amount of coconut water to your drink. In fact, it’s so light that I barely tasted it against the strong taste of the coffee. What I did taste, wasn’t very good. Watered down coconut flavor just tastes weird in coffee. It tastes like a syrup.

Overall, I don’t recommend adding this to your coffee.
