Snack Review: Xiang Hai Egg Yolk Codfish Skin

This was all right. If I were to compare it to something in the western world, it would probably be a cross between pork rinds and potato chips. It’s crispy, crunchy and salty. You can really taste the salted egg yolk flavor, but more prevalent is a heavy dose of spiciness. It’s a nice, crunchy, salted eggy, spicy snack.

The only problem with this is… that it’s fish skin. There were a couple of times when I was eating this where I really just felt like eating some potato chips. While I enjoyed the snack, the idea of eating fish skin is simply less appetizing than just eating some fried potatoes.

Lastly, the bag I bought was mostly empty and I imagine this is true for all bags of this product. This is just a product that skimps on the portions.
