Punisher Max is another very adult tale about the character of Frank Castle. Unlike Ennis’ run, Aaron’s tale of The Punisher incorporates very adult, realer versions of Marvel Universe characters.
This story is serves multiple purposes. It introduces realer, very adult versions of the Kingpin, Bullseye, and Elektra. It tells their origin stories as well as their endings. It also seeks to tell a fitting ending to the Punisher. This story is not part of the main Marvel continuinty.
I enjoyed the story very much. It’s very gore-y and there is a lot of violence. I also enjoy another interpretation of the Kingpin and Bullseye. The Punisher is the same as always, with a few new wrinkles to his story that help to add depth.
The art is great. I remember Dillon’s art from Preacher. It seems this artist is meant to draw very adult comic books.
Overall, this was a great story and essential reading for Punisher fans.
Good comic book review. I’m a fan of the punisher max story arcs
