Dek Sen is a great Thai place with good common Thai dishes, but also some great desserts.

It’s a small space, but tastefully handled. Not a lot of seats, so prepare not to be seated right away. I came on a snow day so there was no issue here. They could probably fit about twenty people in here if they tried.

We ordered the pad thai, a papaya salad, the tom yum and the chocolate mousse cake and coconut ice cream. Each dish cost about ten dollars a piece. Everything was damn good. I mean, I’ve rarely had a papaya salad I didn’t like. I will say the pad thai was one of the best I’ve ever had. Not by a wide margin, but it was slightly better. It’s still an overly simple dish of noodles and fish sauce. The dessert was okay, but it wasn’t what I wanted. They ran out of all their crepe cakes since it was snowing so heavily… at least that’s what they said.

Service was so-so. They looked exhausted and ignored us a bunch.

Overall, this place was great. The service wasn’t extraordinary, but it was decent enough. The food was good though and I’d come back for that reason alone.
