I love The Cheesecake Factory. The score above represents how I feel about the quality/taste of the food relative to other places I’ve been eating at recently, but I still love The Cheesecake factory. It’s mainly because I never had it growing up. I visited my first Cheesecake Factory when I was a full on adult. While the food isn’t great, there are few things that taste like unabashed Americana. The food is mostly derivative. The ethnic items sound and taste like what an American would attempt to make if he knew nothing about that ethnicity’s food. The vast majority of items on the menu are either deep fried, frozen, or both. It’s just the perfect combination of scam and trash that perfectly encapsulates what America is all about. And I love it.
I’ve been here twice before my most recent visit. I’ve had the pasta and some appetizers, which I all enjoyed. What’s great here is that portions here are large. The price however, is also relatively large when compared to other similar franchises. It’s priced in the same range as a Chili’s or TGi Fridays. Maybe slightly higher than a TGI Fridays.
At my most recent visit, I had the stuffed cheddar burger with fries (you can get a salad) for about fifteen dollars. I also tried the pork belly sliders (cost around $12) and the Brussels spouts (cost around $9). All very tasty. I also loaded up on too much complimentary bread.
The space is the same as any other Cheesecake. It’s large with plenty of seats and is very dimly lit.
Service was fantastic. Or waiter was funny and kept trying to chat us up. My group was not particularly receptive, but the waiter gets an A for effort. Unfortunately, out table was the only table that was not set, so we ate most of our appetizers like barbarians because we were too hungry to wait for plates and forks.
Overall, I still love Cheesecake Factory. I know it’s not amazing and likely overpriced considering the quality of food they serve. However, there are few restaurants that represent American to me better than The Cheesecake Factory. It’s a common sight found throughout malls all over the land.
