Details: Located in Hudson Yards mall at 20 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001. Official site is https://eatfuku.com/
Fuku is David Chang’s/Momofuku’s attempt at fast food. The place only has three main items: fried chicken sandwiches, fried chicken and fried chicken tenders. Fuku+ used to sell Momofuku’s signature chicken sandwich, but that place closed along with Ma Peche. Now, this is the main place to get a Momofuku branded chicken sandwich.
There are a few of locations, but I went to the one in Hudson Yards mall.
I ordered their number one combo. It’s a dark meat, spicy chicken sandwich that came with a piece of cheesy bread, waffle fries and some marinated pickles. It cost eleven dollars before tax. You also get your choice of one of their dipping sauces at no extra charge.
It was okay. If I were to rank this sandwich between Popeye’s, Wendy’s, Chick-Fil-A, and all the other fast food chicken sandwiches out there, I would say that this is one ranks near the bottom. It was a little stale and a little stringy. The fries were also a little stale and tasted like they’d been sitting there for a while. The cheesy bread was good though. As for sauces, I prefer the Fuku mayo, which is basically just spicy mayo.
Overall, the place is relatively overpriced and tasted average. It can’t compete with the chicken sandwiches that other fast food chains are offering.
