For the most part, this DLC is lackluster. However, I cannot deny that it’s pretty to look at. The art department knocked it out of the park with Judgment of Atlantis. It’s the writers and scenario makers that sucked with this one.
So this is the third and last part of the Fate of Atlantis downloadable content. Kassandra now visits the simulation of Atlantis and has to do quests, kill things, etc.
You’d think with this being the conclusion of the three part series and likely the conclusion to the game overall, there’d be some build up or a climax or some kind of revelation. There is not. This final part ends on a narrative whimper that left me feeling disappointed.
Content wise, there’s not a lot here. The story is short lived and the choices you make don’t really matter. There’s a bunch of things to collect, but even that feels light.
Visually, the city of Atlantis is amazing. It is stylistically impressive. You can see a bunch of things in the distance. It exemplifies the idea of designing a world that looks vast with plenty of things in the distance, while remaining close enough that traveling there isn’t a hassle.
Overall, this was a disappointing end to this three part series. Torment of Hades is likely the best of all three since it had missions that actually had some heart. As a conclusion, I was supremely disappointed. I can only hope that the free Lost Tales of Greece missions do a better job concluding the game.
