Raan Kway Teow is a small Thai restaurant in Jackson Heights. There are about eight tables of two that can be pushed together to seat larger parties. This is a small space, but sort of comfortable.
I ordered the Kway Teow Pork Num Tok. It’s a spicy, dark soup that came with pork, pork balls, pork skin, some vegetables and egg noodles (you can pick what kind of noodles you want). It cost eleven dollars. I also got a Thai iced tea for three dollars and tried some of a friend’s mango sticky rice which cost about eight dollars.
Everything was really good. The soup was thick and spicy. The portion could’ve been a little bigger, but it was fine. The mango sticky rice was amazing, mostly because I love most desserts with coconut in them. It came with plenty of coconut milk flavor with the purple sticky rice.
Service is largely managed by a single person who also manages the register. She was nice, but we were definitely rushed out because a couple came in that wanted our table and, again, this is a tiny space. Prepare to feel rushed if you’re eating in.
Overall, this place was good. I’d come back if I was in the neighborhood again.
