So I tried to sit through this thing, but it was just too boring. I got to episode fourteen before I just gave up and started fast forwarding through the episode to see what happens. The good news is that there is a nice ending waiting at the end of this series. The bad news is that the episode are so filled with boring fluff that getting to that ending is painful. There are plot twists and developments throughout this series, but the slow pacing just kill this show for me. I do not recommend this show unless you are a desperate fan of the Steins;Gate franchise.

Anyways, here’s a brief synopsis. Steins;Gate Zero takes place in one of the nightmarish alternate timelines that occurred before the ending of the previous Steins;Gate show.

The main draw of this show is just finding out what happens. This is a time travel show and new developments involving other characters jumping into Rintaro’s current timeline are the biggest development.

The biggest issue is the pacing. It’s just so damn slow. So slow that I cannot bother to care. Even the plot twists felt boring because of this slow pace.

If you’ve never watched Steins;Gate or played the game, don’t bother watching this. This is a direct sequel to those things and it won’t make much sense without knowing them. Even still, while the ending was entertaining, twenty some odd episodes of boredom and slowly doled out plot developments are just too boring for me. You need to be in a certain mindset in order to tolerate the slow pace of this plot. I was not in that mindset.
