Movie Review: Spider-Man: Far From Home

Score: 7/10

This movie was average. I read somewhere that it serves as an epilogue to Endgame and a set up on what happens next in the Marvel cinematic universe. It doesn’t do a good job as an epilogue or a set up. There is a big end credits scene with consequences for Spider-Man, but that doesn’t do much for the rest of the MCU.

The movie picks up not long after Avengers: Endgame. Peter Parker and his class are going on a school trip to Europe. While in Europe, runs into Mysterio, a new hero who seeks to defeat elemental monsters from another dimension. Peter must now team up with Mysterio and defeat this new threat.

Obviously, there are lots more things going on in this movie, but I won’t spoil them. The biggest elements in this movie are simply Peter’s personal life and dealing with the world post Endgame.

The story is just okay. It’s not bad. It’s not great. It’s mostly predictable.

The biggest disappointment with the movie for me was that it was sold to me as an epilogue to the Marvel cinematic universe. This was not that.

There are two end credits scenes. One changes a lot of things for Spider-Man. The other doesn’t really do much.

Overall, this was an average movie. If you love Marvel, you’re obviously going to watch this movie. If you aren’t a Marvel fanatic, you can feel free to skip it.

Score: 7/10
