Score: 7.5/10

Attack on Titan is simply some of the best entertainment on television. The story is bonkers. The animation is great (though there is a noticeable drop in quality in Season 3). If you like anime and have a strong stomach, you need to be watching this show.

Season 3 picks up where season 2 left off. The knowledge that Eren is a Titan has become public and internal elements in the government now seek to control him. The enemies this time are not titans, but people. Part 2 goes back to fighting Titans.

The story in the first part of season three isn’t bad, it’s just not as good as the second part or the seasons that came before. With that said, part one had a lot of necessary exposition that sets up part 2, which has been some of the most action packed, dramatic television I’ve ever seen. The tension in these episodes is at a fever pitch. The tone has been set up during the last two seasons and the audience is well aware that no character is truly safe. A lot of crazy stuff happens. A lot of messed up stuff happens. Additionally, there are few shows that can make deaths as horrific as Attack on Titan. Game of Thrones comes to mind.

The overall animation quality is worse than in the prior seasons. It’s still pretty good, with some action sequences being downright amazing. Those action sequences are few and far between, but are some of the most memorable in the entire series. Still, I wish the overall animation quality was better.

Music is great as usual.

Overall, this is must watch anime. This isn’t for kids obviously as it is pretty gruesome. If you can handle the gore and enjoy anime, watch this show now.

Score: 7.5/10
