Anime Review: One Punch Man 2nd Season

Details: Currently ongoing. I’ve watched ten episodes. More information can be found at and

Score: 6/10

The first season of One Punch Man had some of the best animation I’d ever seen. The animation in the second season is no where near as good and as a result, the second season as a whole is crappier.

The show continues the story of Saitama, the most powerful hero in a world where heroes fight monsters. No one knows he’s that powerful though, so people constantly underestimate him.

The first season was amazing for its comedy, but most importantly, the animated fight scenes were some of the best ever animated. The animation quality in this second season takes a noticeable drop, dropping the overall quality of this series towards something decidedly average.

This isn’t terrible seasons, it’s just not as good as the first. It’s still better than some of the other crap anime out there. Just don’t go expecting the amazing stuff you saw in that first season.

Overall, this was fine, but I have no interest in continuing to watch it. I realize now that the animation quality was the primary reason I enjoyed the first season. With that gone, it’s hard to care about what happens now.

Score: 6/10
