Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is an animated movie that takes place in the same universe as Batman: The Animated Series, Superman (the Bruce Timm cartoon), Justice League (the Bruce Timm cartoon), Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited. This movie is essentially an hour and a half long new episode of the Justice League Unlimited cartoon, which sound great to me. I loved those old cartoons and an opportunity to revisit that world again with all the old voice actors is fantastic to me.

Justice League vs. The Fatal Five takes place shortly after the end of the Justice League Unlimited television show. Star Boy, a superhero from the 31st century has traveled back in time with some super villains intent on threatening the world. The Justice League must now combat these super powered villains from the future and stop them and their evil plans.

The action is great and it’s great to see these old characters again. Some new characters are of course Star Boy and a new green lantern. Mr. Terrific had some small parts in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon, but a more substantial role in this movie. Ms. Martian is a nice bit of youthfulness and comic relief.

The animation maintains the same style, but improves where it can. The voice actors knock it out of the park.

Overall, this was a nostalgic new episode for me. I sincerely hope that this movie finds some success and DC Comics revives the series for another run with all the old characters and voice actors.

Score: 7/10
