Restaurant Review: La Rossa

Details: Located at 267 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012. Official site is

La Rossa is a middle end pizza place from Stefano Callegari, a guy who owns a bunch of pizza places in Italy. The food was pricey and just okay.

Pizza’s are mostly twelve inch pies and cost from twelve to twenty-five dollars. I ordered the Carbonara pizza, stupidly thinking it was pasta. It cost about twenty five dollars. Barely cooked raw egg yolk covered the thing. It was insanely salty from the cheese, to the Guanciale (Italian style bacon). It was definitely not worth the twenty-five dollars.

The crust was nice, which is the main thing their pizza is known for. It still wasn’t worth twenty-five dollars. Our waitress was also nice.

Overall, It wasn’t terrible, but the pizza was not so good that I’d ever come back again.

Score: 6.3/10
