Comic Book Review: Super Sons

Details: First issue was published in 2017. More information can be found at

Score: 6.9/10

Super Sons is a series telling the story of Superman’s son, Jonathan Kent, and Batman’s son, Damian Wayne, and the misadventures the two regularly get in. The comic was canceled a while back, but it’s still a fun story with plenty of childish hijinks and bro-mance moments.

Super Sons takes place shortly after DC Comics rebirth event. That’s mostly irrelevant as the adventures are mostly just superhero play dates between the two tykes.

It’s a fun dynamic as Damian is overly serious, overly arrogant child, well versed in the horrors of the world. Jonathan Kent is a good country boy, loves his parents, does his chores, and can’t imagine hurting anyone really.

The relationship the two have is one of ridicule and naivety, with Damian constantly lambasting Jonathan. Over time however, the two eventually start dropping pretenses and become best friends forever. It’s a shame the series got canceled because I would’ve liked to see this bro-mance develop. It has the kind of wholesomeness as Drake and any player in the NBA.

The art is well done. It’s very cartoon-y and bright, with lots of action scenes illustrated.

Overall, this was a fun series that took the fun of watching Batman and Superman team up and added in more immature shenanigans.

Score: 6.9/10
