Wondee Siam is an interesting restaurant in that right next door is another Thai restaurant called Thai Noodle House that has pretty much the same menu. In fact, when I was here, I saw employees shuffle from on restaurant to the other. I think it’s safe to assume that both restaurants are owned by the same owner.
What’s annoying then is that items on the menu’s cost slightly different and food is served slightly different. For example, I came here and ordered a pad thai for lunch, which cost around ten dollars. I also had a thai iced tea which cost around $3.50. They would not give me my complimentary spring roll unless I ate in the restaurant. I did not.
However, at Thai Noodle House next door, the spring roll rule does not seem to be present, but Thai iced teas are four dollars. The space is also more comfortable for sitting in. So if you want the best experience, you go to Mee Siam and get a thai iced tea for fifty cents less, then go eat a pad thai next door so you can get the free spring roll. I mean, if you’re a cheap ass like me at least.
Overall, the food was average to below average. Portions were unsatisfying and the taste wasn’t great. Their pricing is also strangely arbitrary, especially when considering how prices at the restaurant next door are slightly different though both restaurants seem to be owned by the same party.
