Oathbringer is the third book in the Stormlight Archive series of books. For the most part, I enjoyed the book. This is a lengthy book that seeks to immerse the reader into a fantastical world.

At the end of book two, Dalinar and crew found the ancient city of Urithiru and moved his forces there. The Everstorm has been revived and the Parshmen have awakened, creating a new army that fights against men. Dalinar and the newly revived Knights Radiant must now unite the continent against the Parshmen and the Parshmen’s new god.

The story is a lot. If you didn’t read and enjoy the prior books, then definitely do not read this book. If you did, then you are obviously going to read this.

Oathbringer goes far deeper and finally reveals a lot of the history behind Dalinar, Kaladin, and Shallan. Oathbringer also does a lot to develop these three characters.

Without spoiling the story, we also get to explore more of the world. There are many different locals that are visited.

As with the last books, the action scenes are the highlights of this story in my opinion. They are described well and the whole book seemingly works to build towards these narrative climaxes.

Overall, this is a must read if you’re a fan of the series. If not, go read the first one and see how you feel about it.
