Young Street Poke is another new poke place that has come to Flushing.

Poke is essentially a Hawaiian raw fish salad. It’s like sushi, but usually over hot rice and dressed with some dressing. Often times you can get other toppings like fried garlic, seaweed, fruit, etc.

You can make your own bowl or you can order one of their recommended bowls. I got the salmon bacon bowl for eleven dollars. It came dressed in a soy based sauce and with a soft-boiled egg. It was pretty good, just kind of plain and lacking toppings. I also wonder about the serving size compared to the price. It’s a few dollars more than what competing Asian business are able to provide for a complete meal. It is slightly cheaper than Ok Lah! though, which is a few feet away.

Overall, this place was okay. I’m on the fence about whether I would or would not go back.
