Huabei Dumpling Ramen Shop is a new ramen place in Flushing. It’s Japanese ramen made by Chinese people and with a heavy Chinese influence.
The interior is comfortable and trendy enough. If there’s exposed brick, it’s trendy. Air conditioning was comfortable and they have those remote controlled vibrating things that let you know when to go pick up your food. No wait service here.
They have a variety of ramen and appetizers. I got the bbq pork spare ribs ramen. They let you decide between udon or ramen and a broth based on soy sauce or miso. I got ramen and miso. Normally, the ramen costs ten dollars, but they had some promotion going that gave you twenty percent off. I think it’s because it just opened. I paid eight dollars.
The noodle was fine. It came with two fatty pieces of braised spare ribs, canned corn, shredded carrots, scallions and some naruto maki (slices of that fish cake thing).
Overall, a decent place to get a bowl of ramen/noodle soup.
