O2 Korean BBQ is an all you can eat Korean barbecue place that opened in approximately the last year. It’s surprisingly cheap compared to its competitors.
Strangely enough, I don’t think they serve galbi, which is what most people enjoy most at Korean barbecue and one of the more expensive items. Dinner costs around twenty-seven dollars and includes the widest variety of meats and appetizers. Lunch has a smaller selection but costs around nineteen dollars. The food was of good quality in my opinion.
You might be wondering how they can be so cheap, and there are multiple answers to that question. First, you don’t get to pick up your own meat like at places like Picnic Garden. I’ve read somewhere that it takes about twenty minutes after starting to eat before a person gets full. The amount of food eaten is irrelevant. It’s more about how much time has elapsed after you’ve started eating. Here, they forcibly cook their food for you and they are pretty slow about it.
Secondly, they overload you with the cheap stuff and hold back on the more expensive stuff. We ordered some bulgogi, some pork steak and some pork belly. The pork belly came in relatively small amounts while the bulgogi was piled to the heavens. I would’ve rather had more of other things.
Lastly, the meats offered are relatively inexpensive. Don’t expect any galbi here. We also didn’t get a lot of appetizers or banchan here. It may have been because we came at lunch.
Ultimately, this place is okay. You get what you pay for. If you want to eat tons of galbi, then dinner at Picnic Garden is still the best place to go. Otherwise, O2 is a good, cheaper alternative.
