Chickls is a halal food truck that serves fried chicken. Just tenders and nuggets, no actual pieces of chicken. What’s most amazing to me about this truck are the reasonable prices and that they honored the free chicken tenders promised on the menu above.
What’s great about this truck is that nothing on the menu is over five dollars. Sandwiches cost four dollars or less.
On the menu there is a “free meal,” which is essentially two free chicken tenders. That is a bold thing to put on a menu because people can just run up on the truck and ask for free food. Surprisingly, when I asked for my two free tenders, they gave them to me. To be fair, I also ordered the Action Chickl’s (three tenders, rice, salsa and cole slaw for five dollars), but it was nice they honored it. Furthermore, they only give the chicken tenders if it’s your first time there, but the only way they determine whether it’s your first time is by asking you. So it’s an honor system.
The chicken itself was fine. They had some kind of spicy sauce they put on it, which wasn’t really that spicy.
Overall, I recommend this truck. It’s cheap and the food is fine.
